This elegant park offers many peaceful seating areas and serves as a gateway between Stanley Park and Coal Harbour. Devonian Harbour Park offers something for everyone, whether throwing a ball on the rolling lawns, enjoying the magical views of the harbour and pond, or contemplating the interesting sculptures.
The entrance to Stanley Park was for years the subject of much controversy with plans suggested that would have created highrises and/or hotels directly adjacent to one of the great parks of the world. It was referred to as the Four Seasons Property and endless debates about the development there consumed many public meetings from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.
Finally in 1984 after the dedicated work of the Save Our Parkland Association in conjunction with the Park Board and along with a generous donation of over $600,000 from the Devonian Foundation in Alberta, the property was saved for park.
